His smile only broadened at the position she took between him and his desk, as if to accentuate the fact that indeed none of that work would be done while she was there. That was quite alright with him, he was ready to be done entirely with it. If it had been up to him, he would have pushed the court date up and had the trial sooner, but it wasn't up to him.
Matt returned her kiss easily, grateful for the barrier that was her boy that she had placed between him and everything else. His arms lifted, hand freeing itself from her own, and slipped around her frame. Palms settling on her hips, he closed his eyes and savored the way her mouth tasted. She knew how to get his energy level back up, that was for sure.
His lips broke from her own, touching ever so lightly at the corner of her mouth, then the line of her jaw. Matt's eyes opened and he pulled back from her gently, lifting a hand to her face. He brushed the tips of his fingers along the curve of her jaw and savored the feel of her skin. "You know, you're beautiful when you're angry but I like it more when you smile." It was a tease, but it was the truth, too. Her smile was a thing unmatched.
