Dexter found it a little strange that George felt safe around him. That'd never really happened in his life. Except maybe with Deb. But Deb didn't know what he was. So it was a little different.
George knew what he did, and she'd even seen him do it, and still she felt safe with him.
He wasn't quite sure how to respond to that, so he took the vodka from her instead and took a very large swallow, trying to block out the confusion.
It'd been a very long time since Dexter'd had this much alcohol. It was hitting him already. He was such a lightweight. She was totally going to make fun of him for this when they were sober again.
