Charlie's brows went up as he got the hug. His arms wrapped instinctively around Honour; it was nice to have a hug. Hugs were nice. Ted liked hugs even if he was a little awkward about them at times. Charlie gave the young woman a soft squeeze then carefully eased her into the house so that they were no longer hugging in the doorway.
"You didn't do it. Ted had to go. It was his time. One day it will be my time and your time." Charlie was aware of how it sounded as if Ted were dead, and in a way the man had died, he'd passed on to another world. He was no longer with them physically. Charlie missed Ted, but he would honor the man by not completely wallowing for the rest of his time here missing Ted.
"Would you like a tissue? I have some somewhere." He nudged the door closed with his foot, still hugging Honour as best he could.
