"Very." Macklyn agreed about the confusing part. He also understood not knowing where the heart lied. He couldn't tell Eric that the destiny had always been to be with him, not with Leeloo, because he didn't know how things might have happened if they'd all stayed put. Maybe it had always been the path that they would be taken from their worlds, or maybe the TARDIS had altered what should have happened. All he knew was that he was happy he had found Eric, because Eric was his true soulmate.
"Mostly I am concerned about the potential threat of you knowing as much as you do." Macklyn paused, sighed. "Or I was. I'm very protective over Eric, as I'm sure you must have seen, but it bares repeating. I didn't know what you might be capable of and then he went and shared all of our history, everything about me. It just made things worse in my mind. Of course, now I see you in person and I know that you couldn't bring me harm any more than he could. I know just looking at you that you wouldn't do anything to hurt him, either."
