He was quite glad that she had accepted his reasoning so easily. He didn't really want to see her become a vampire. If he could have infused her with fairy blood and given her that, he would have. But she didn't have anything in her that would take his blood the way Eric had. He imagined she might get a little bit of fairy, but it wouldn't be enough to let her walk in the sun, or eat food. Sure, she was a night creature, but Macklyn imagined she would miss daylight.
"It always is." He smiled at her. "And you can always talk to me, okay?"
Macklyn leaned over to give her a small kiss on the cheek. He wouldn't overstep his bounds, since she'd found the man that she loved. He would never presume that others were the way he was about relationships. The way fairies and vampires were.
He looked at the kitten in his hands and moved it so he could see the heard. "So is this the one, then?"
