Ariel beamed and nodded, setting her towel over a chair to dry. "I shall. I shall sing something bright and wonderful, and it will be loud!" She promised and so it would be. She was delighted that he wanted to hear her sing.
When he disappeared from the door, Ariel took a deep breath and burst into a song her mother had taught her. It was for the sun, about the sun on the waves and the way the sky complimented the top of the water.
She sang for him because she wanted to, but also because he had heard it before. He liked it enough to ask for a song and she couldn't turn down a request like that.
