As he studied the side panel of the bed set, his words settled into her. If you like it, it's what we will get. Her head tilted to the side, thinking about how the simple white bed would transform the bedroom into something completely different. She glanced around the store, took it in as a whole, and considered Eric.
White did not suit him. It suited her well enough, but the reason why she had been smiling when she imagined him using the bed was because it was wholly unfitting of him. Leeloo reached out and set her hand on the arm of her escort. "No," she said. "Not this one."
She turned back around and eyed the selection. Nothing seemed to fit how she saw him. Leeloo walked slowly down the left side of the aisle, pausing a few times, but never settling. Then she repeated it down the right side. Finally, when she'd seen everything, she turned to the best option and pointed to it instead. Black was the first color she associated with Eric - but this set had a good deal of red, with black scrollwork, too. She thought it was positively elegant - and she hoped that it was dark enough for Eric's tastes, too. When she pictured him on it, she didn't laugh.
