Times like these came frequently with Logan - times when he did something unexpected that no one would've expected anyone to do, just to be considerate to her - but even though it was frequent, she never took them for granted.
"Are you sure you don't mind?" she asked, but saw the answer on his face and smiled. "Oh, Logan, you're wonderful! Thank you!" And she was on her feet in an instant, gathering their coffee - one mug in each hand - and practically dancing herself back to her bedroom. (Had it once been his?)
She set her mug down in the connected bathroom and his down on the nightstand, thinking he'd probably end up sitting on the bed to finish eating while she changed. She was stepping out of her bunny slippers when Logan came through the door.
Something came over her, then, when she saw him standing in the middle of the room he'd given over to her as her own. Her heart raced and she took a deep breath but needed more. He was such a good, kind man. Her eyes went soft and sweet. If he hadn't had his hands full of breakfast, she might have gone straight to him and thrown her arms around him.
Instead, she made herself go to the closet. She fished out the dress she'd thought to paint in, then pressed it against her front and turned. "What do you think?" she asked, eager for his approval.
