Matt's fingers threaded with hers and he nodded at her. The idea of eating lobster on the couch was a good one. More comfortable, able to eat and be close to each other without the boundary of the table between them.
He shifted, taking up his plate and fork with his free hand, leaving his hand tangled with hers. It didn't feel right to pull away not even to get a plate or a napkin. He didn't want to let her go if he didn't have to.
A slow rise from his seat and he waited to Rose to gather her things and when she was standing and ready Matt lead her to the couch. He settled down next to Rose against the cushions. He relaxed and finally released her hand in efforts to balance the plate and eat.
