Matt shook his head at Rose, then, and offered a small smile, "I know what its like to rush toward something you want without seeing all of the signs first. Any caution I take with you is purely out of respect, to make sure that it's what you want and that you won't look back on it with regret." He wanted perfection for her. Always perfection. But it seemed like she was ready to move forward, to take the next step, and he would take that leap with her.
"I also know that you deserve the best, and that I want to be the person to give you everything you want." Matt lifted a hand, setting a palm against Rose's cheek. He brushed a thumb gently over the swell of perfect skin and he savored it. The contour of her face offered him so much more than she knew.
And then Matt leaned forward and pressed his mouth against hers, tender and sweet and yet tempting. All the while his heart raced and for a moment he felt insecure, as if she might push him away, reject him knowing she could do so much better. But he doubted she would. She would not have lead him that far only to cast him aside. He hoped.
