"Mm-hmm," she agreed through closed lips, before swallowing. "And you can't teach me this, because I'm certain it involved dark magics and blood sacrifices." She picked up her wine glass. "It's really the only explanation." A sip.
And she liked being here, she realized. She liked sitting with him, enjoying a dinner that he put together only just for them. She liked it quite a bit, and it was something that only they were a part of. Like their work out sessions.
But she'd had enough time since the hallway for doubts and insecurities to sink back into her. What if he was only doing this because he didn't want his friend to have to deal with not being taken out for Valentine's Day? What if she were reading all of this all wrong? What if he was really just... just interested in...
But he let her hold his hand. He kissed her hand when she did it, and he'd pulled her chair out... Rose frowned at the plate. This was confusing. She wished she had a guide for these things. She wasn't much of a reader, but if there were some sort of book to figure these things out, she'd read it. Would the library have one?
