Again with the kissing. Evey gave as good as she got - maybe a little better, god, she was starved for him, did he even know how much? - and when she felt him lock her comfortably against his body, she realized -- they'd made it.
They'd survived, they'd made it out, and it didn't even matter right now how it had been done; they were safe, free, and for the first time in her life, Evey had survived something completely and come out on the other side.
It was all rather much, being found by Aidan, realizing that they were in the clear, and recognizing that she'd not lost anything at all, despite the near certainty that she was going to...
