Aidan definitely agreed that they'd spent enough time apart. And the time that they had gotten to be together had been in a world where everything bad was happening at once, and things could get worse at any moment. It hadn't exactly been the most relaxing. They'd taken what they could where they could, though.
"Oh, I want to have your key." Aidan said, kissing her cheek and nudging her face upward again. "And I want you to have mine."
There was something sweet in seeing Evey doubt herself over something like a key. It was so normal. So... not Evey. She'd been strong in die Festung, strong for other people. She'd been sure of everything she'd done for the world and for everyone else. Turning away from him while talking about the key, that rise in blood pressure, it was endearing.
Though he did think it might be a good idea for them to each have their own spaces for a little while. They needed to get used to the other freedoms they had before they could try to combine themselves into one unit. Aidan needed to find a routine for his raiding of the hospital, he needed to make sure that he wasn't still somehow beholden to Eric Northman as well. He absolutely did not want to drag Evey into any debt he might have with that particular vampire.
He was sure that there were things that Evey needed to adjust to, as well.
Aidan was too happy to have her in his arms to really dwell on all of this. His lips found hers again and kissed them. He secured her with his hands clasped at her back, not wanting to let her go. Time seemed to stop around them, the world fading away.
