Eric didn't like this one bit. Mostly because he didn't like the idea of not being near his wife for an extended period. Leaving her unattended and alone. That the City would take him away like that.
He watched her. A mixture of feelings roaring through him. He was happy to see her, still in love with her, and angry.
Her in his lap finally was comforting. He wrapped his arms around her, burying his face in her hair. Eric didn't doubt that Baba would find the answers, and he would leave her to it. This was not a matter for him right now, she had the power to do what needed to be done, he did not.
Feeding. He was hungry. He needed her blood, though it wasn't just because he needed the nourishment. He needed to restrengthen their bond, he needed to taste her.
There was no hesitation, after he said it, Eric's fangs appeared and he was drinking her.
And he was discovering just what she had been through. Just how long it had been. Eric got lost in the memories.
