He could wait almost as long as she, and perhaps now that he was back, they could sit in almost stillness together saying little. She was never perfectly still as vampires were wont to do, but she could sit for a long time, listening and watching. Just a hand moving in a steady stroke of fingers over skin, or leg kicking back and forth. Just enough to cause the air to stir. Though, she could do that with a thought.
Finally, after mere seconds or longer, she set her hand in his and slipped onto his lap, curling up where she fit so nicely. He felt a little different, cooler than normal. He smelled a little closer to death than normal as well. He smelled more himself, as if he'd been on his clothes not simply in them.
"There must be some reason the City took you. Perhaps you are well believed in. It was how powers worked in my realities," she did belong to a few after all. "Though as a magic wielder I work a little differently outside those strictures." It helped that the Adversary had taken an interest in her somewhat as well.
"I plan to look into the others who were taken, as well as some who are here." She nuzzled at his neck, giving a quick bite to his collar bone. "You may feed if you'd like."
