"Same places you have just not when you've been there." Charlie sounded almost sad. There was that time issue again. He pulled Jennifer close, keeping her hand in his while his other hand rested on her side. His thumb traced a slow circle on her wrist and hand.
"What's the last thing you remember?" He lightly pushed her forward to close what little bit of room was left between them. Charlie liked touching when he knew it was okay. When he knew it might be needed. He liked touching his partner. He liked doing many things with his partner.
"It may not be the same last thing I remember, and that might help explain why you and I haven't been seeing each other for a little while. Or it might mean we need to work on our communication skills. I think they're pretty good; I read a book once that said if you're not seeing your partner, you might need to work on seeing your partner. I don't think we have that sort of sight problem." He nodded as if he'd decided it or, he might have just put the thought to the side to focus on the more here and now issue.
"You also tore up the house. For a phone? Phones are not important. You could leave messages any number of ways after all." He lightly squeezed her hip before rubbing her back.
