Completely insane didn't even come close to touching the stability of Eddie's mind. He was a chaotic genius, utterly mad and somehow managed to keep it together most of the time lately. It didn't help that the circles he ran in were filled with about the same types of people - over-dramatic, murderious, genius psychopaths. His own daughter included. But he had made her that way. Oh yes. The breaking point, her breaking point was the death's of her foster parents by her own hand, a set-up Edward pushed her into on purpose, unbeknownst to her.
He never had been the best father to her.
"Are you? I think all of us have spent a little time here and there inside those walls. Of course, it's one of those places that you never want to go back to. Not for any reason. Except I don't really have much of a choice on the matter." Of course he had a choice, he could go stay at the ware house with Effie, but he couldn't leave Jonathan by himself. Jonathan didn't have Scarecrow anymore to keep him company, and without Eddie the man was a dangerous wreck.
And Eddie offered Ted a nod, "That's what my doctor keeps saying. I'm trying to be good," Eddie replied. His eyes fell to the cup full of tea, and then lifted, "Not a fan of Oolong?"
