"I can't stay mad at you. Not that you did much to get mad at, but damn if you don't make me sometimes." Zoe gave him a slight smile before leaning in to claim a kiss. It suggested that after a nap she didn't realize she needed, after dinner she wouldn't feel that she was forcing down just for nurishment, she was going to need something more than a good cuddle and noodles. Perhaps he could tell that in a kiss, or it was all in her head. She didn't ask; she just kissed him for a while before breaking it off to speak again.
"I'm suddenly feeling very tired." It probably wasn't sudden, but she hadn't allowed herself that time to stop. She had to keep going. There were moments that she almost gave up and hid, perhaps she did do that a little. It didn't matter. He was here, and she could sleep knowing that he would look out for her, and others. He did have a habit of doing that.
"That place we like shouldn't take long. A little noodle, a little rib, and the Duke." She placed a kiss near his lips. And a nap. Just a short one. Funny that her instinct wasn't to toss him to the bed and have her way with him because he might disappear on her again. No, she believed he wouldn't leave her. He hadn't exactly left her in the first place; he'd been taken, and if the City had asked, he probably would have volunteered in some fashion.
She knew she overreacted, but emotions were strange. Once she let him in, Zoe let Jesse see all of them. It was a relief, and it frightened her all at once.
"I guess we're living together." She finally said, a slight smile on her lips. "Your freedom something you mind giving up?"
