Castiel reached out a hand and placed it over one of hers at her words.
"It doesn't hurt more to talk about," he said, as gently as possible. Gentle had never been his forte, though it rarely was an issue in his line of work. "You are very kind."
He pulled back his hand, slightly awkwardly, and after a moment of indecision about what to do jam topped another breakfast item.
"What is life like, in this City? That you remember," he added on. Things might have changed in a year, but he imagined not everything could turn so quickly. Not without signs of important events lingering.
