Regardless of the length of time she'd spent in modern circumstances, her sense of propriety was still sometimes clearly rooted in the time of her childhood. That was why she released his arm as they arrived at the cafe. But she found his presence compelling and most of all enjoyed talking with someone who accepted what she said without blinking an eye. She hadn't realized how nice it was until she spoke with him today.
And so, when he said he was an angel, she swallowed her first response. Instead of disbelief, she just asked him about theionly thing that didn't make sense to her.
"Why am I not terrified by you?" She knew her Bible. She knew that angels were frightening entities, and often the first thing they said wss 'Fear not!' She wasn't afraid at all. In fact, she was glad for his company. She took the paper as he offered it and found the date.
This time, she didn't have to keep disbelief from her face. Time moved, or had somehow stood still. Today was the exact day she'd been pulled away to the island with dinosaurs. The very same day.
