Leeloo set the ball down, still a little baffled. Didn't people here work? Wasn't that enough? How was a large ball related to exercise? Making a mental note to ask Peter about this - surely he was about, and he would find her when he was ready - she backed out of the gym and palmed the apartment key she'd found in her pocket. Number five.
"All right. Five." She half-smiled. For the five elements - and she, she was the fifth. She liked this room number. After some brief exploration, she found the right corridor and headed down it, checking each door until she found her own.
As she slotted her key into the lock, her hand rested on the door knob. Leeloo checked behind her to ensure that she was between this man and whatever might be beyond the door -- then opened that door.
And laughed -- in surprise, and because of the concern she'd held. The apartment before her was an exact copy of the place she shared with Peter.
"It is my home in die Festung," she explained, stepping inside and waving him in. And everything about the place was exactly like die Festung - down to the sagging, second-hand couch shoved against the wall and the scratched, rickety coffee table. But for all of its beaten appearance, it was also neat and clean, just the way Leeloo liked it. She walked into the kitchen and discovered how different it really was.
She'd never seen so much food in the pantry, ever. The fridge was full as well. She pulled out a carrot and started munching. "Do you...?" she asked, welcoming him to the carrot bounty in her fridge.
