Leeloo tipped her chin upward at the tall blond and pinned him with a bluegreen stare. There were words, she was sure, that she could use answer him, but without Peter there to tell her what those words might be, she could only use her own language -- and that wouldn't help him understand her at all.
So she poured her disdain for the question into her eyes and looked at him. She could answer him straight, without embellishment, and although it wasn't the words she wanted to use for him, it was all she had.
"No," she answered.
And then she turned and pointed at the ship in the parking lot.
"That," she said. "Is mine. But I did not have it before. It was here. It was shot down before arriving at Earth."
It should have been destroyed. She frowned and looked back at the man, then lifted her shoulders and dropped them. It was a physical expression she'd seen many others do when they were confused. She was also confused.
