Evey smiled at Peter, then Leeloo - but her hands were full. "Hugs later," she said to her best friend. "Coffee now." And with that, she thrust a paper cup toward Peter with a bright smile. "Sorry - I didn't know you were going to have Leeloo with you until after I left the store. But maybe she'd like some chocolate?" Evey rummaged around in the convenience store bag and pulled out five bars of Hershey's chocolate. "This should get us through the night."
Evey glanced toward the bedroom, then looked back at Peter and said silently, When did she change her hair back to orange?
It was a passing comment only; Evey always liked Leeloo's hair its natural bright orange. The chestnut color always seemed a little... off.
"Oh, and here!"
Evey pulled out a foot-long turkey and cheddar hoagie wrapped in plastic. "ACTUAL turkey," she breathed. "Processed, pressed, salted turkey. Get a knife, and hurry!"
