"The complex is called 'Agreeeable Apartments', or so it says on my key fob," Rose explained, reaching for Matt's arm and looping hers through it. She did it partially for the companionship - but partially also because she didn't know how well he'd do on stairs, and stairs were in their immediate future.
As it turned out, she didn't have to worry any. He was just fine, and that was just as well with her. She still kept his arm in with hers, though, just in case, until they arrived at her mum's flat. Her own flat. Hers. She'd need to start thinking of it as hers.
It was just strange. She hadn't thought of her mum's place as her home in a very, very long time. She missed the TARDIS. She missed it already, and she'd only been gone for a few minutes. With a breath, she pushed open her door -- and again, the scent of black tea and dryer sheets greeted her. "C'mon in," she offered, glad that the place looked freshly cleaned.
"Shower's just through here; I'll get you some clothes."
