Matt lowered his arm, and pivoted, body turned to face the ocean before the form was completed. He was sweating, as was she, the scent was evident even over the familiar scent of the water. A scent Matt had come to enjoy. He had been about to open his mouth to say something, possibly a 'Great job' or something to that effect when her words and the tone of her voice hit him like a ton of bricks making any words he'd been about to offer her stop cold.
She didn't even have to complete the sentance for Matt's senses to begin going haywire. Something was very wrong. And then the ground started shaking.
Instinctively, Matt threw his arms around Rose and held her close to protect her. His eyes swam with white, as the sea connected with the sky. He couldn't see anything distinct or that could distinguish one from the other. They had indeed become the same. And the rumbling sound wasn't helping his Sonic Sense get a clear picture of anything.
"No, I can't see anything. Just stay close to me, Rose. I don't think we can make it back to the TARDIS before the earthquake but we can find some place nearby to keep us safe." They could go further inland and find a cave if need be. Though that could be dangerous too. However just standing around didn't seem to be the safest choice.
