Wash just nodded, biting his bottom lip at the comment.
"The other guy isn't interesting in anything but Maxine. Puts me on edge. City created him to think he's Maxine's dad; I get that. But it gets mighty annoying. Probably doesn't know anything about mechanics anyway. He isn't exactly...smart. A little creepy," Wash admitted with a squint and a nod.
Wash shrugged.
"I'm not a violent man but sometimes just seems so logical to...just...nngh!" Wash said with emphasis on his clinched fist. "He hasn't done anything to provoke it, though, aside from being creepy. Anyway, have a feeling Jo won't flinch as much as I would if the choice were to...end him."
He glanced up at her.
"When...I was in the hospital," he said, changing gears. "You...came to see me, right? I mean. Sometimes. When I was between wake and sleep I...smelled you. Sensed you? I dunno. You were there. Right?"
