Sam recognized the witch as someone he'd had a conversation with before he got his soul back. His first instinct was to run because he'd gotten at least some inkling that she was powerful. Whatever that was worth.
He wouldn't run though. He didn't want to just leave the young woman that had gotten pulled in to the potential wrath of the woman who might be a powerful witch. Instead, he looked in confusion at the envelope that was given first to Baba and then to the stranger that Sam didn't recognize.
He turned his attention to Baba first.
"You didn't do this, did you?" There was less accusation in his tone as there was simply a request for answers. If she got angry, he'd deal with whatever she threw his way.
