Jo caught sight of the smirk but paid more attention to Maxine. If this was going to be a competition, than she would be in the real Wash's corner 100%. She just really didn't like the idea of it coming to that. Especially with how much it seemed to be stressing Maxine out. Jo gave the little blonde's hand a gentle squeeze as if to communicate that it was okay and she'd done nothing wrong.
"I slept okay," she answered over her shoulder as she started to dig in the pantry with her free hand. "So you know, can't complain. It was another late night at the bar, but bartenders don't get to keep normal hours anyways. Besides, normal is overrated. Right, Maxine?"
