Jo didn't take the offered seat. Especially with the question asked. She looked at Zoe, a little bit of confusion crossing her expression.
"Well, how would you know?" she asked. "I mean, I got the feeling that Wash wasn't exactly going to call you up and tell you. And besides, I would hope that if you did know, that you would have checked on him at some point."
She bit her lip to keep from pointing out that even if he was her ex, she'd still cared about him at some point and that was supposed to matter. Instead, she let out a breath and realized just how much this was a bad idea. She held up her hands and moved towards the door.
"You know what? This was a waste of your time. I thought that you should know and I've now made sure of that. So, it was nice to meet you Ms...." she stopped and realized that it probably rude to call Zoe by her ex's last name, even if she seemed to have kept it. "Zoe," she interjected. It was nice to meet you, Zoe. I'll just let myself out."
