"You wanna buy me a drink? That's a first," Logan chuckled, nodding. It wasn't the first time, but it had been a very long time. Usually it was the other way around. "I'll hold ya ta that once we get outta here."
Logan held no remorse or sadness for these victims. He couldn't let himself dwell on what they had failed to do because it wasn't in failure that it had happened. It wasn't as though they had just let it happen, things had escalated and all they could do now was move on and protect the future. It was much easier to rely on that instead of feeling guilty about inevitability.
He did follow her down the hallway, noting the emptiness of the other room. With a nod and a grunt, Logan turned and elbowed open a doorway leading into a bathroom. Empty, and void of smell. "Don't look to me like anyone else is home. Don't smell like it either. Maybe we got lucky."
