"Yeah. I went to Serenity a few days ago and the shuttle pieces were shoveled to the side. I know it sounds silly, but I'd kinda like it back. It's a job, though. And it'll probably never run right. But...you remind me a lot of a friend of mine, Kaylee. I think if anyone could get it running again it'd be Kaylee. After she called me every name she could think of, that is. Cry some. Then yell at me again. That's her charm," he said dreamily.
"Always smilin'. Cept when she wasn't. It'd break your heart to see her not smilin'. But always ended up looking up again no matter how bad things got," Wash said.
He couldn't find himself caring too much about their closeness, either. It was nice and friendly. It was something he'd been missing.
"She liked blowtorches too! Something about a lady and a blowtorch," he said with faux wistfulness.
