"Abraham!" Beauty exclaimed warmly, as she reached across the threshold and folded him up in a great hug. She'd been waiting for the last of them to arrive, and although there was still Jonathan Crane on the RSVP list, she decided that she'd waited long enough for him. Longer, and the dinner might not be at its prime. Ruined? No, that was too strong a word. But certainly, it wouldn't be as perfect as she'd wanted it to be for her guests. "Come in, come in -- let me take your jacket! Oh, I'm so glad you could come. You're just in time! Everyone, this is Abraham Sapien, my friend --"
There were the customary introductions, then, as Beauty linked arms with her last guest, she called everyone to dinner. She didn't let go of Abraham's arm, however, until she'd led him to the place she'd picked out for him -- right beside her. On her opposite side was Errol's place, of course, but Beauty suspected that Abraham was so new, he hadn't yet had a chance to make a lot of friends. Logan had Megan.
Logan... She'd found herself unwillingly looking over toward him more than once. It was unsettling to feel such a powerful draw toward a nearly complete stranger, and it was beginning to be a little uncomfortable. Why she didn't want Errol to notice, she couldn't have rightly said off the top of her head. She cleared her throat a little once everyone was seated, then lifted her glass.
"To friends!" she cried merrily. And after the first sip of dinner's wine, she exclaimed without further ado, "Dig in!"
To start it off right, she seized on the plate of Christmas ham, nudged a slice onto her plate, and passed the dish to her left. Green bean casserole was next!
