Eddie shivered, suddenly colder than the room allowed and in response he tugged Jonathan's body closer.
He closed his eyes for a moment, releasing a frigid breath. When his eyes opened again Edward took his arms from around Jonathan for a moment, long enough to slide out of his suit jacket and ball it up.
He put the jacket on the floor beneath Jonathan's head, laid the still-wrapped man down on it and then curled up beside Jonathan on the floor. Eddie rested his head lightly on Jonathan's shoulder, a long arm curled around the man protectively.
"Why can't I see it when I hurt you? Hm? Never being good enough is my greatest fear besides losing you. I'm still afraid to ultimately lose you, to never see you again...hear your laugh, see you smile...all of those little things. All of the things I took for granted. I deserved what Scarecrow did to me, but losing you..." Eddie sighed and shook his head.
He fell into silence and once more closed his eyes, holding his beloved tightly. He didn't want to lose him again.
