Beauty thought about this for a few seconds, then nodded. "My friend Megan works at Fixit, a little shop you could visit. She's working a lot of hours now, so I bet she could use the help. Maybe you could try there tomorrow. I'd let her know you're coming, but sadly, I don't get to see her so often, even though we live together. We should make more time to spend together."
Beauty was musing to herself, now, though she was talking out loud. She realized it a moment later, and gave Logan her brightest smile in recompense. "I'm sorry. Do try at Fixit. It's a lovely little shop, even if most of the gadgets are a mystery to me. Did you know that there are things called 'laptops' that let you look for anything you want? It's like a library in a box!"
She was beaming again, just by talking about the joy of laptops. She swirled the rest of the whiskey in her glass and watched the ice and liquor mix. "Sometimes I wonder what it would be like for me to go back home again, after having seen so many wonderful things here in The City. Would I be happy? Would I be homesick all over again?"
She bit her bottom lip. She knew for a fact that she would be heartbroken. Errol wouldn't come with her; she didn't think he could. Determined, she straightened on her barstool and gave Logan a firm nod. "I'll just have to stay here," she said. "Besides, the company is quite delightful." Another smile... It didn't seem that her spirits could quite ever be dampened for long.
