The hint of gentleness Dinah was seeing were the flecks of brown swirling within the green of Hulk's eyes. Bruce lingered in the forefront of the large beasts mind, making sure it eliminated only what danger there was and nothing else.
Bruce had come a long way in trying to control the Other Guy, and while this was obvious progress there was still a lot more work to be done. Hulk could defy Bruce completely, block him out if he wanted to, and they would all be in a lot of danger.
With the danger quelled, Hulk grunted and began to calm down. Instantly the monster began to disappear and the scientist once more stood before his friend, dressed only in the stretchy khakis that were torn at the bottom.
"Remind me to get you some serum next time I see you," Bruce said with a nod, exhausted but less than usual. He usually exerted more energy and this became even more tired. But this time had been different, luckily.
