Bruce sat patiently in his lab, tinkering on one of his latest genetically based projects. It seemed that his blood and genetic code had no limitations on what it was capable of, and the more the scientist knew about it the more regret weighed down his heart. Working, though, was all Bruce could do to keep his mind off of the fact that he would probably never see his wife again. He couldn't bust her out of jail, that wouldn't be up to his moral standard, but he hated that she was rotting away in there.
Since his last chat with Dinah, Bruce had felt a little bit better about Effie having turned herself in. It showed where her moral compass was pointing and he was proud of her, but it would've been nice to have been informed about it before hand instead of seeing the headlines in the paper. They really had to be better about communicating. Bruce knew he wasn't the best at reaching out to his wife, let alone most people, but he knew he had to start somewhere.
And that was when his watch began to beep in alert.
Dropping what had been in his hands, Bruce checked the pulsating watch. He saw an alert from Dinah pop up on the screen, and was able to hear her voice. It didn't sound like she was having some kind of party. He hoped she would never have to use that function of her watch, but he was glad she did.
In an instant Bruce was running as fast as he could to the stairs, and rushed to the lower level. "Jarvis, tell Tony that I've gone to help Dinah, and that I have no idea when I'm going to be back," Bruce called to the empty tower. "I will relay the message, Doctor Banner," the AI chimed in appropriately.
Bruce nodded and pushed through the front door, the change already coming. He didn't want to risk getting to Dinah and having to change there. He wasn't sure exactly what situation she was in, but he knew where she was and that was a start.
With a mighty roar, Hulk dashed easily and quickly through the City. Every step against the sidewalk Hulk left a small crack and a crater, arms pumping at it's sides and it's heart racing with determination.
When he reached the warehouse, Hulk spared no moment to analysis, punching a hole in one of the walls on the side. Bruce urged Hulk to be careful from deep within the creature's mind, and Hulk registered Dinah. It remembered her face using Bruce's memories, accessing her features and voice. It had never met the woman before, but it saw no reason to attack her outright. Hopefully she would stay out of the way now that the beast had been unleashed.
