"But..." Maxine started to protest. She would be able to locate Wash if something like that ever happened to him. It didn't worry her. Because no matter how disappointed she was in her father, she was still raised by a superhero father.
Maxine didn't finish her excuses when she looked Sam and sighed.
Whether Jo realized it or not, she was every much a parental figure that Wash was. In some ways, she was the better parent, the responsible one, the one who wasn't afraid to discipline. Although Maxine was not yet fully aware, Wash was more likely to let Maxine get away with things.
Maxine needed Jo.
