I open the door to find a remarkably pale man, as though he has not seen the sun for centuries. Behind me I am aware that the sun has gone down. For a moment I am caught off-guard, thinking perhaps the Strangers have found me at last, and a small gasp escapes me.
There is something of the Strangers in this man, but a smile playing at the corners of his mouth tells me he is different. Well, it is a bit late for clients, but I'll take what I can get.
