"Well, the last mayor agreed to let us work with your department," Dinah said. "Though I suppose technically I'm not sure where that stands, since he's gone and most of my team has gone too."
And those that were left didn't seem all that interested in being a team, though she didn't add that. Any wistfulness for her team was pushed aside because that didn't have a whole lot to do with this particular conversation.
"I would say 'welcome back,' but I'm not sure if that applies to returning to the City," she said with a sympathetic smile.
The City had grown to be a home to her but she still didn't think it was a good thing to be taken from one's actual home and held prisoner, no matter what the City did for them. She also knew that it could be jarring to return after being gone for awhile only to find that everyone you once knew was either gone or had changed.
