Dinah was computer illiterate. Still. Willfully so, even. but she recognized that they had their uses and she missed having someone in the Clocktower working that angle of things. She missed that even more now that she was faced with the possibility that the Clocktower might never be the same after Fred was done fixing the City. It was worth it and it was the right thing to do, but she was feeling a little nostalgic for the way things used to work.
She also thought that Sam needed a little more reason to come out of the bunker, so she'd asked him to check on a few things for her. One of those things was Enigma's file with the City PD. Dinah felt a little guilty asking for that and even a little bad that she hadn't just asked Jen. But she thought it was better to give Sam something to do and maybe to keep Jen away from this until she knew what the hell was going on with the girl.
One thing confirmed was that there'd been a breakout. Whether or not Enigma had chosen it was a question, but she hadn't gone through her due process and been released. Which meant that she was technically on the run and could (and possibly should) be returned to prison at any time. Dinah had to decide what to do about that.
For now, she was investigating something else Sam had noticed. It was connected to some extent. An employee on the force had been accessing Enigma's file. Perhaps more than anyone who wasn't an investigator might need to do. Dinah wanted to know why. So she did a little digging-old fashioned investigative work-and tracked him down. To this cafe here.
She approached the table with what she hoped was a friendly smile.
"Dexter Morgan?" she asked.
For the time being, she was going with a direct approach. She just hoped that he'd heard of her and her connections with the department. She still wasn't sure where she stood with that now that the mayor was gone, but hopefully it bought her the benefit of the doubt in this case.
