This version of Sam had only met Jesse once. And that had been when Jesse was stuffing his soul back inside. As grateful as Sam was for that, he couldn't help but wince at the memory of the pain connected with his soul being returned to his body after months of walking around with no conscience or care in the world.
The coffee stop had been his attempt at venturing out into the world and getting out of the bunker though he supposed he should have realized that the City wouldn't let him do this in obscurity.
"Hi Jesse," he greeted the man whose looks did not betray the Godly powers that he could wield.
"I didn't realize that a God needed coffee," Sam said, managing a small joke and even a smile.
