"Makes sense." Fred couldn't help the soft laugh and then a small thoughtful look. "Wonder if they go in for regular maintenance. Or they have special diagnostic programs. You'd think they'd have some way of communicating a problem and getting it fixed. Unless that's part of the whole process - finding people to fix them. That's just awful. Sure, it'll weed out the bad choices, but that's just awful." Thinking of the floating cities/worlds that didn't have the proper people living on it actually made Fred sad. How many of those beings had died without proper care?
"Well." Moving from one thought to another, with much help from Annie's suggestion. "I know of a place that might be the beginnings of something. Maybe. If it's still around. If it's not..." She shrugged.
"I'll just have to work with what I can find. Your shop, other places. I'll get it built." Fred nodded. It was the beginnings of a plan. While she wasn't the City's best friend, she felt that even the City needed to be helped, especially if all their lives depended on it. Which they did.
