"Because it's weird. It's not my apartment, and while he disappeared on a good note between us and possibly the City, I just don't want to stay somewhere that isn't mine. I want to find a place that's over where I'm working. I know there's always a risk of not being happy with it afterwards, but that's what I liked before the other office burned down." Fred shrugged. She wasn't sure she wanted to talk about it or if she'd just gotten it all out right then. It was a strange thing, and might have gone along with the vanishing kiss issue.
"Talk about the issue at hand, not the issue at hand." She motioned to where they were, including Annie on the hospital bed. "But the issue at hand out there." She motioned to the wall and the City outside.
"The City's broken. I don't think it knows, or it doesn't know how to fix it. And the only person I know who can do all sorts of things can't really fix it. He could probably, but he's not so sure he should. Not that he's going all 'It's not fair,' but I think he doesn't think he's got it in him to fix it. I think he does, only I'd like to push him to fix it as a last resort kind of thing. So that means, I gotta start a team. Well, not me, but someone. And I guess right now I'm as good as the next guy or in this case gal. So, would you like to help me fix the City because it's broken?" Fred finished with a smile and no searching quickly for breath. It'd been a while since she'd given so much info at once, even if it wasn't all the information, yet she did it just fine.
"I think you'd be a good person to get involved because you could possibly talk to the City or at least bits of it if not all of it. I don't think I'd want you trying right off, certainly not at the moment, but maybe we could find a way to start diagnosing. And, you probably know more superheroes - y'all do kind of travel in packs." She laughed softly.
