Ted said nothing about Charlie's statements. He didn't want to worry Jo by assuring her that he meant it. And he couldn't bring himself to lie about it, either.
"I did, actually. We didn't have a table to eat at. We always eat at the island in the kitchen if we're home, or just sitting on the couch. While I wanted this to be informal, I didn't think having a nicely prepared meal off of plates in our laps was the way to go."
He smiled and slid his hand into hers. They still had to wait for Jennifer, but Ted didn't think the detective would be too much longer. She was generally punctual unless something held her up.
"Do you want a tour of the house? Or are you satisfied knowing that it's big enough for a horse to roam around in?"
