"The Violetta victims all looked alike." Dexter nodded. There were a lot of photos for that. "That was what they had in common. So find who they look like, and you'll find the killer close by. Maybe not physically near, but only one or two people removed. The killer is a friend or in love with either the woman who looks like the Violettas, or that woman's significant other. I see jealousy there."
Charlie's question made Dexter frown. "No. Everyone was in the Asylum?"
Something else the detective said made Dexter sit up. Maybe he wouldn't need more access after all. Not that he'd push it away if given him, he wanted to see the details of the Asylum murders so bad it almost hurt. But there was a clue there.
"They all worked there." Dexter slid forward, doing his best to not get in Charlie's way, and pulled out the file. He opened it on the list of victims. He then reached under the detective to grab another paper. He laid it next to the victim list. "It's something I realized, but didn't understand why it would matter. Now I do. Every one of the victims worked at the Asylum at the same time. Some of them had quit or been fired since, before their deaths of course, were you... all.. in there at the same time?"
