Eddie listened. He frowned as Scarecrow told him the full story. He'd never heard it in its entirety before and it didn't surprise him now that he heard it.
It explained a lot about Jonathan as well, his behavior, the way they co-existed. And the Scarecrow's willingness to harm to protect. Edward understood that Scarecrow loved Jonathan as much as he did, and Eddie wouldn't hold it against him.
At the mention of the crows, Eddie licked over his lips. "They can't hurt you. I wouldn't let them. I know they can, but they'd have to get through me first. And id blow out their little brains before I let them get close enough to either of us." It was almost a growl, that something so meaningless like a bird could rile Jonathan up. But Eddie would slaughter every black bird in the world of it kept Jonathan at peace and safe.
