Jonathan didn't need to say it. Not really. Eddie was assured by his actions. If Jonathan didn't feel the same, Edward knew Nightmare wouldn't have been so willing to carry him. But Edward wouldn't put all of his eggs in the same basket. Both of them were capable of brutality. But Eddie's heart simply wouldn't allow him to second guess their connection. Not when it ran so deep and was etched across the very muscle itself.
As the horse reared, Edward clung gently to Jonathan and only moved from the othe than when he pulled away to dismount. Only then did Eddie release him and slide from the horse as well. He waited in silence as Jonathan gathered the blanket and pack, watching the black mare as she finally trotted away to chase the fruit.
Eddie only chuckled and sat next to Jonathan once the blanket was spread over the grass. Eddie stretched his long legs and took a breath of the fresh air. It was...nice.
