Though Hannibal left strict instructions with the front desk, River knew that she might occasionally get visitors at the hotel.

She'd met with Lindsey a few times here, and a few times at his office. She'd been dancing regularly. Her life was returning to normal, though she wasn't spending much time at her apartment. She'd check in now and again, but River still did not want to be totally alone.
Hannibal had his own key, so River knew it couldn't be him when she heard the knock. She padded to the door on bare feet and pressed an eye to the peephole. She didn't recognize this woman on sight.
River's long, purple skirt swept her legs as she stepped back, opening the door just enough to speak to the woman on the other side.
