There was a little bit of regret on Logan's face at the reaction. He thought that Dean was wrong in his simplistic view of vampires, but that didn't mean that he was happy about the way this particular bombshell had dropped on pretty much his only friend since he'd shown up in the City. Oh sure, he had his 'family' now, but that was different. They were connected by blood, albeit in a different sort of way than human families were. In short, they had to like him. Even if Eric had chosen him, that was a different relationship as well.
He was glad that at least the hunter wasn't trying to attack. There were spells in place to prevent that, but Logan didn't want to see them tested. Nor did he want to see Dean have to deal with the backlash from trying to fight the spells.
"The phone works both ways, you know," Logan said.
Hey, Dean hadn't exactly been in touch either.
"I was going to die. Eric gave me another option. And before you ask, I don't feed on anyone. That's what the synthetic blood is for. Even before the truce was in place, I had a reason not to."
Whether she knew it or not, Veronica had a strong hold on him. He wanted to not be something that she'd see as a monster. He wanted that more than he craved live blood, which was saying quite a bit since his mouth still watered every time a particularly vital person wandered by. Every time a fangbanger offered up his or her blood.
