Jesse was afraid that he'd only managed to make her angrier, the way she was standing, the way she was talking, it didn't feel like he'd picked the best route to take the conversation.
"There's always gonna be a part of you that loves him, Zoe. I know that, and I think that if you can wrap yerself around it, it'll settle easier. I feel like yer at war with yerself right now. You know what ya want, but the thing that ya know is right out there. It ain't like he's made it easy on ya, either."
He stood up and walked across the room to stand behind Zoe, but he was careful not to touch her.
"I wanna help. I don't know how, though. Tell me."
